Sourdough Whole Grain Pancakes
an easy recipe using active starter or discard
After close to six weeks of trying, I finally got my sourdough starter going again just before Christmas. The old one had been lying neglected in the back of my fridge for at least six months, maybe more. It was dried up and not salvageable. Thankfully tucked away in the basement was a jar with flakes of it from a “backup copy” I made a couple of years ago. I highly suggest everyone do this. It’s a great way to gift your starter in the mail to friends. Some people even sell their starter this way with instructions on how to revive it.
